Private Santo Domingo Experience
€199
Per person, based on a private full-day experience from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo. Ideal for 2–6 guests. Larger private groups may be possible on request.
How the Day Can Unfold
A calm start from Punta Cana Pickup is arranged around your accommodation and preferred starting time. The earlier the day begins, the more space there is for Santo Domingo, the road and small pauses along the way.
The road becomes part of the experience The drive from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo usually takes around 2.5 to 3 hours. The ride can be quiet, conversational, with music, with a coffee stop, a short pause in Higüey or simply time to watch the country slowly change outside the window.
Santo Domingo at your pace Most of the day is shaped around the Colonial Zone, selected museums, cultural places, local food and the contrast between Punta Cana and the capital. There is a route, but no feeling of being pushed through a fixed schedule.
A return that still feels comfortable The return is planned around the rhythm of the group. Many guests prefer to arrive back in Punta Cana around 20:00 or 21:00, but the day is shaped with enough flexibility to feel complete rather than rushed.
Possible Moments Along the Way
Zona Colonial The historic heart of Santo Domingo, where the first streets, churches and institutions of the New World began to take shape.
Catedral Primada de América The first cathedral built in the Americas, standing in the old city with more than five centuries of history around it.
Faro a Colón A monumental place connected to Christopher Columbus and the complex history that changed Hispaniola forever.
Los Tres Ojos A quiet natural escape inside the city, with limestone caves, underground lakes and a completely different side of Santo Domingo.
The story of Hispaniola How the Spanish arrived, how the first colonial structures were built, and how Santo Domingo became one of the most important starting points of the New World.
West and East Santo Domingo A look beyond the postcard, showing how the city lives today and how much of the real country exists outside the old streets.
Rum culture Depending on interest, the day can include rum museums, tastings or places that explain why Dominican rum is part of the country’s identity.
Cacao and chocolate Local cacao, chocolate museums or small stops that show another side of Dominican culture, craft and flavor.
Cigar traditions Cigar museums, workshops or small demonstrations for guests who want to understand one of the country’s most famous crafts.
Dominican food Not as a quick tourist lunch, but as part of the day: sitting down, eating properly and tasting something local.
Local stops along the road Passing places like Higüey, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís and Juan Dolio, with the option to stop when it makes sense and the day allows it.
Boca Chica If time and rhythm allow, a short beach stop near Santo Domingo can become part of the experience.
Quiet moments Coffee, photos, a walk, a conversation, or simply time to stand somewhere and take in where you are.
